Do injector cleaners really do…anything? Yes, they actually do. Although gasoline already has detergents, carbon deposits can still build up in injectors, fuel pipes, fuel distributors, and inlet valves. The detergents in gasoline are not concentrated enough to clean a dirty fuel system. Injector cleaners not only cleans the fuel system, but helps boost mpg, fixes your air-to0 fuel mixture, helps smoother idling, better throttle response, and create a more low-pollution, and environmentally compatible combustion. These are the improvements I have experienced first hand on my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 (noticed the difference as soon as I drove after I added the injector cleaner – had 60,000 miles at the time I added it). I recommend putting the cleaner in between a quarter tank or half tank of gas so the chemicalsĀ are more concentrated per gallon of gas. The product I recommend is Liqui Moly Fuel Injection Cleaner.
